We've been using it for exploring the future, parallel Earth on the other side of the gateway, or "rift", as we call it. We don't offer a public API yet, but that might be something we release in the future. iDGi-1 is an artificial satellite as opposed to the moon, or other natural satellites in our solar system...

It is constantly amazing to see exactly where know-how goes and the long run of gaming is no different. There are a lot of cool and very innovative technologies arising. There is no way to inform which 1 will make the upcoming huge wave, but 1 point is for sure, it will have anything to do with finding rid of the remote as we know it!

Good call on Shadow of the Colossus and Ico. Great examples of modern games that do indeed have soul. Also, agreed, Heavy Rain was certainly a notable achievement, but I would say that it's mostly a great example of a team playing around with a fancy new camera. ;-) Mind you, the high-tech forensic sunglasses and the time sensitive "emotional response" mechanics were fantastic.

As much as I would love an update of the classics I think they'd be missing that special something that made the originals so good, especially if they try to "modernize" it for a wider audience. For modern games, just of the top of my head, Ico and Shadow of the Colossus had soul in spades and hopefully the team's upcoming game will too. Heavy Rain springs to mind as something more than explosions and graphics (Well, maybe not graphics. They were pretty impressive.) but as great as it is it's missing that tiny little something to make it extraordinary.

I think DX remains my benchmark because the escapism and commentary are utterly symbiotic; whether we circumambulate the world for one white whale or tumble down a rabbit hole or the maintenance shaft of area 51 to overthrow a tyrant (or even if we marry Becky Sharp) the looking glass is most appreciated when it seamlessly intertwines with the masque.
Which is why args are so powerful; I'm here but also there and, at least the first time fooled, i couldn't have known it.
Which raises a question concerning the confidence in reality we surrender in ascribing to any media (including Alice in Wonderland or any other Book) truth on a par with personal experience; ie, to what extent are my reasonings and revelations cued up and directed by another?
Conspiracies and the nature of God - looks like we're back on DX.
If anyone reads this ramble I hope it's as fun for you as it was for me.
